Butzbach, January 20, 2025 – RIEDEL Networks, provider of tailormade IT security and network services, has joined the newly founded Security4Media association. Security4Media is a non-profit association of media organizations and technology providers created to reduce cyber risks in the media sector and strengthen trust in the media.

With its services, RIEDEL Networks has been rooted in the media industry since 2001 and has already supported numerous pioneering projects. In view of the increasing threats posed by cyber criminals, the company is fully committed to supporting Security4Media. Michael Martens, CEO of RIEDEL Networks, emphasizes: “The foundation of such an association is a step in the right direction for the broadcast sector, because it sends out a signal that IT security also plays an enormously important role in the media sector and must be given greater focus.” Only at the end of last year, the company emphasized in its IT trends for 2025 that the insufficient focus on IT security is a key problem in the industry and can have serious consequences.

Security4Media was officially founded on September 4, 2024 by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and other members such as ARD (Germany), ORF (Austria), SR (Sweden), SWISS Txt, RTS (Serbia) and NRK (Norway). Investigations by EBU expert groups have shown that a third of the media systems analyzed have significant security gaps. Security4Media aims to raise the media industry to the level of modern IT systems in terms of cyber security. This includes the identification of vulnerabilities, the optimization of vulnerability management and the faster elimination of security gaps.

By becoming a member of Security4Media, RIEDEL Networks is strengthening its efforts to promote cyber security in the media sector and contributing to the development of future-proof protection measures.
